(M1 tables moved to the side and 403 stations spread out throughout the labs).
Lead: Stay assigned lab room the entire time to ensure coverage.
Assist: Rotate throughout labs to work with students where needed. Direct students to rooms/stations with more space when things get crowded.
Each lab there are 2 TAs in the assist group assigned to hold the door.
For the first group: open the door at 9:55am and stay there until 10:10am
For the second group: open the door at 10:55am and stay there until 11:10am
Practice Questions: Do the role of the assist for the first block and as needed. Starting in the second block, take time to observe other TAs to complete peer review of all others.
Complete peer review google form linked on the homepage of this website.
Use probes, pipe cleaners, or bamboo sticks to point out structures on osteological and plastinated donors. Do NOT use pens or pencils.
Encourage students to handle osteological and plastinated donors carefully and respectfully. Have them put on gloves.
See the Teaching Preparation page for more tips!
For details on whether 403 set up can stay in place, see specifics in each google calendar event.
When this is not the last lab of the block (The first and second labs for MSK, the first lab for Neuro, Cardio/Resp/Renal, and GI/Endo/Repro)
Set up stations and practice questions on counters or a table (in Lab 1) within the same room where they were viewed. These will be available for students to review during the next lab. If you do not have enough space for all, choose the most relevant anatomical donors and place others on the gray carts in Labs 1 or 2.
Move all empty tables under the counters in each lab and move any additional tables to Lab 1.
Move M1 donors back to the location indicated in the lab.
On the last lab of the block (The third for Neuro and MSK, the second lab for Cardio/Resp/Renal and GI/Endo/Repro)
Gently remove ALL pins, tape, strings, and labels. All specimens may remain in place on counters or tables for inventory. Following 403 blocks, the specimens will be inventoried and placed back in their location within the lab. While we appreciate the gesture, please do not reshelve the specimens on your own.
Keep the letters together with the pin or string and store them on a Styrofoam block organized by station number for use in future semesters. For osteological specimens, remove and discard all tape used to label structures.
Put the supplementary images back in the binders organized behind the station number dividers. Please keep these organized! Return organized binders to hallway closet.
