The Grand Challenge

The Sensors and Advanced Instrumentation Laboratory (SAIL) Team is dedicated to solving complex scientific problems by creating novel measurement and analysis systems. To focus our efforts and maximize our impact, we are embarking on a single, unifying mission for the next several years.

The Grand Challenge for the Sensors and Advanced Instrumentation Laboratory (SAIL) is to develop, validate, and disseminate a modular research platform that bridges the gap between physical instrumentation and modern data science. We will investigate its power by applying it to solve critical challenges in precision agriculture, producing novel scientific insights and a new generation of "Solution Architects".
