Earth Day and Wind
April 27 - May 1, 2020 This is the week we will do activities related to wind. Wind is a type of energy that we can observe and play with.

What is Wind?
Come learn how wind is made and make some simple toys to play with it.
Make a Simple Kite
Put the string in the middle of the kite for better performance.
Listen to the Wind Blow
Sing a song about the wind with Buffy Sainte-Marie. Watch the wind blow her feather hair decoration.

Can the Wind Move It?
Make a prediction if the wind will move that object. Then put the object outside on a windy day to see the results!

Simple Bubble Recipe
2 cups of water
1/4 cup Dawn or Joy dish washing soap
Let it sit for about an hour
Optional - Some people add a little glycerin, sugar, or honey to make them stronger (see internet recipes).
Dance like the Wind
Listen to this classical piece by Chopin called "Winter Wind." Does the music remind you of wind? Get a scarf or some ribbons and try dancing like the wind while you listen to it.
