Abstract
Where Your Feet Are: A Coffee Table Book of Guided Meditations will contain just that, as well as prompts where readers can script their own guided meditations based on their own values and needs. This part of the book will look similar to a guided journal. Meditation is an empirically-backed method of improving mental health issues through the recognition of simple truths and the improvement of concentration and creativity. The book will target people of all ages and demographics who wish to deepen their understanding of the importance of presence, self-awareness, and the anxiety-reducing nature of meditation. Methods include social scientific research on meditation, arts and humanities practice on developmental editing, copyediting, and graphic design, as well as survey research on which scripts are most impactful to my peer-reviewers. The final product will be printed using Canva Printing Services and presented at ArtsFest.Â
