Directory ID and Email Account:
The Directory ID and password provide access to most of the online resources for the university community. These include services such as course registration, library services, financial account information, and exam schedules. Students can set up their Directory ID and password by visiting the Division of Information Technology (DIT).
International Students: You may be asked to provide your SID number to set up your Directory ID. The SID number is separate from your UID number. Your SID is located in your Admissions Letter and the Enrollment Form in your TerpEngage Application.
Course Registration:
As a default option, all new students should register for ENTS 622, ENTS 630 and ENTS 640 regardless if you plan on taking the placement exams or not. All full time students (in particular, F1students) are required to register for three courses.
Three Course Policy:
Students are permitted to register for a MAXIMUM of THREE COURSES. Students who wish to take more than three courses must seek individual permission from Dr. Dellomo and submit a signed "ENTS Waiver of Regulation" form to the Program Office via email. You must make an appointment with Dr. Dellomo during his office hours.
IMPORTANT: Students who register for more than three courses, without prior approval, will have ALL of their courses DROPPED without notification, no exceptions.
Pre-requisite Policy:
For any course which requires a pre-requisite, you must have completed the pre-requisite course(s) PRIOR to enrolling in that course. The pre-requisite must be completed first. If you enroll in an upper level course which requires a pre-requisite and you have not completed the pre-req, you will be removed from that course.
All course descriptions, including pre-requisites, can be found at https://blog.umd.edu/telecom/courses/. The amount of information conveyed on Testudo is limited, so please check the ENTS website to make sure you have met pre-requisites.
Additional Registration Blocks:
Please be aware that you may have additional registration blocks beyond the department’s “mandatory advising” block. We cannot see these blocks in the system or lift them. Students must check with those respective departments (Health Center, Bursar, Graduate School, etc.). It is the responsibility of the student to make sure these items are taken care of. Additionally, please note that advising is not necessary to have the block lifted; this is just the system name for departmental blocks.
