Yeast Two-Hybrids test for Pathogen Effector interaction with Plant Circadian Genes
We are using the yeast two-hybrid test to determine if there is a protein-protein interaction between effector proteins from pathogens and circadian clock-related proteins in plants. Plants use their circadian rhythm to preemptively defend against pathogen attacks. Thus, we need to find out if pathogens have evolved a mechanism for disrupting plant defenses that are regulated by circadian rhythms.
