Report Campus Access Barriers
A form through which to report access barriers on the UMass Amherst campus.
UMass Allies for Illness and Disability Access (UMAIDA) promotes a supportive network and work environment that is inclusive and accessible for all individuals with lived experience of disability, deafness, illness (chronic and mental), injury, neurodiversity and their allies. The group also focuses on ways to support the recruitment, retention, professional development and career advancement of employees with disabilities.
We are using the umaida@groups.umass.edu for email communications. Folks can sign up by searching 'umaida' in the google groups interface. Our meetings are announced on the email listserve.

Cultural Groups
Access UMass
Access UMass is a student arm of disability advocacy on campus. The group started as an initiative to change the perception of disabled students at UMass and bring awareness to the accessibility barriers on campus.
Meets on Tuesdays from 5 to 6PM in the Student Union and via zoom.

The Disability Culture Club is a Registered Student Organization that seeks to promote disability culture on campus and create space for disabled community members on campus.
Meets on Fridays from 7 to 9 PM in Student Union Room 339 and via Zoom.

The Alliance Against Ableism is a student, staff, faculty, and community member driven group meant to bring disabled people in the area together. Meeting weekly, the group discusses ongoing disability issues, news, and updates as they relay to the disability community. The group also acts as a safe place for the disabled community to come relax or voice their concerns. Many disability related initiatives have been born out of AAA.
