This is our signature one month outbound programme which the student will experience life as a student at LJMU. This is part of a long standing MOA between UM and LJMU. The activities done during the programme include the visits to various places in UK related to the Building Surveying course. 

The students also able to explore the places there and experience the culture there. The credit from the subject that has been taken during their studies there will be transferred to the next semester of the Building Surveying programme in UM.

This opportunity benefits them by getting travel to another country and having fun despite gaining knowledge and experience.

Regular site visit trips are conducted to relevant industrial places, academic trips to JKR, DOSH etc. The students will be able to engage directly with industry personnel and learn first-hand from their experience. The students also able to experience real life scenario about building issues related to the course learning. 

The drawing works that consist of construction plan drawing, etc will be teach and done in the studio. There are  () studios for the Building Surveying Department at the faculty. The studios provided the tools and equipment for drawing works such as portable drawing board , etc. 

Good and fresh environment also provided in the studios in order to give comfort and great focus during the session for the lecturers and the students. 

The students are exposed with various type of machines during the learning session in the wood workshop. They are able to learn how to handle and use each of the machines properly. The brick works , the process of making cement and concrete will be learn and done in the construction lab at the faculty.

The skills to do measured drawing involves collecting information about the dimensions of an existing building lay out, construction and materials to the extent that they could use the information in their building communication. The measured survey will form the basis of any changes of the existing new buildings (either for repair and renovation) or  heritage buildings ( either for preservation or conservation).

The measured survey module has always been carried out on existing buildings  with collaboration  with industry and community especially with those  agencies like Public Work Department and National Heritage Department.
