Abejas de Canarias & Social Networks
Through the blog "Abejas de Canarias" we raise awareness about the diversity of species in our archipelago. We also disseminate the blog's publications through different social networks:
Citizen science
On iNaturalist we have created the project Abejas de Canarias in order to broaden our knowledge of the distribution, phenology and interactions of this group of pollinators.
Additionally, we have built different resources for Canary Bee ID, such as a Photographic Guide of Canary Island Bees with the main species present in the archipelago. Different filters can be applied to facilitate identification: island, ecosystem, size and taxonomy. The mobile app allows you to use it in the field and even download it to use it offline in areas without mobile signal. Another resource is a collection of photographs of the most representative species on Flickr
Photography
Through photographies, videos and infographics we are trying to raise awareness of the diversity of species in the archipelago. We are publishing all the visual material through the blog and the social media, and we compile it in the blog repository.
