What is ChemCaper?

ChemCaper is the ultimate role-playing game designed for middle and high school chemistry classes. Students choose their avatar in the game (mage, warrior, etc.) and navigate through the world with their classmates. They are given "magic" spells that they have to make by understanding how to combine elements to form compounds and how to turn one or more compounds into another form. There are quests that challenge their understanding of chemistry and encourage them to learn and explore more about the content.

Students can share techniques and learn collaboratively together as they work through the quests. This heavily promotes the cooperation required in science while engaging students and sparking their love of learning. Students are also introduced to different aspects of the lab itself through identification and usage of apparatuses (test tubes, beakers, etc.)

This is game-based learning to the extreme!
