STEM Nau!
A community of practice
A community of practice
STEM Nau is PNGAus Partnership Higher Education initiative led by Australia Awards Papua New Guinea.
STEM Nau is a Community of Practice (CoP), a group of educators from higher education institutions who share common experiences, challenges, and interests in STEM education. We come together to learn with and from each other to fulfil both individual and group goals of progressing STEM education in Papua New Guinea.
Our community of practice is focused on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance professional practice. Our interaction is ongoing, which means we rely on face-to-face workshops as well as web-based collaborative environments to communicate, connect and conduct community activities.
By the end of Learning Futures we will have a deeper understanding of:
Our systems, their purposes, parts and complexities
The diversity of contextual approaches used progress STEM skills as a critical part of learning
How collective efficacy can transform education
By the end of Learning Designers we will have a deeper understanding of:
Collaborative approaches to strategy design and action research
How to design learning that is student-centred and promotes the progression of thinking skills
How iterations of professional reflection and feedback can be used to refine practice
By the end of Learning Networks we will have a deeper understanding of:
How we can learn together as a community of practice
How online and digital technologies enable us to leverage and accelerate processes
the practices that have an impact on student learning
Selected participants from higher education institutions will be contributing to this community of practice.
