Fixative Type: Must be fixed in 10% Neutral Buffered Formalin (NBF) only. Or Bouins Solution will be used for fixed samples of Testes. Or FAA Solution (Formalin - Acid Acetic -Alkohol) will be used for fixed samples of plants.
Fixation Ratio: Minimum 10:1 fluid-to-tissue ratio or 10-20 times volume of tissue to prevent degradation or rotting.
Tissue Thickness: Individual specimens should ideally 2-3mm or not exceed 6mmÂ
Labeling: Clearly labeled using a pencil or solvent-resistant marker on the cassettes/bottles (No gel pens).
Biohazard Safety: For non-infectious research samples only. Active high-risk pathogens must be declared.
