Students in 101 should either:

1. Never have taken French before, or:

2. be placed into French 101 after taking the UIC French Placement Test.

NOTE: French 101 is not for native speakers or advanced learners. It's for beginner students only!

To avoid being dropped from French 101: if you have taken French in high school or at another college, lived in a French-speaking country, or are a native French speaker and did not take the UIC placement test, or took the UIC placement test and placed in a higher level, talk to your instructor immediately.
