Giftedness is defined by an unusually advanced degree of general intellectual ability that requires differentiated learning experiences of a depth and breadth beyond those normally provided in the regular school program, to satisfy the level of educational potential indicated. (Ontario Ministry of Education Definition)
Compact the learning - pretest or gauge your child's knowledge of a subject such as multiplication and modify or take out work that has already been mastered. Give only a few examples to check for understanding.
Enrich the instructions - Go deeper and wider into the curriculum rather than faster through the curriculum.
Use your child's interests - Teach and create projects based on your child's interest. If they like birds, and the content is about food chains, have your child work on a food chain for a particular bird.
Demonstrating Knowledge - Allow your child to choose how they will show their knowledge of the content. Ex. perform a play, make a board game, draw a picture, create a model.
