Educational Assistants play a valuable role in supporting students with special education needs. Digital tools support both Educational staff for their professional collaboration as well as their direct support for students. The following site is a guide meant to support Educational Assistants in their learning and proficiency in a variety of digital tools used within the UGDSB.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN...
Check out these three key areas first and then explore the two pathways below!
Using the Google Chrome Browser is a must when navigating Google Classroom, Google Meet and the rest of the gSuite (Google) tools. In order to have proper access to the tools that UGDSB has paid licenses for (Google Read & Write, etc.), staff and students must be signed into both the Google Chrome Browser and their ugcloud accounts. ✅

If you are signing in on a Chromebook, you are already signed into the Chrome Browser!
✴ If you are on a Laptop, Desktop, or other device, check to make sure you are signed in to the Browser AND ugcloud. ✴
Once you've signed in, the browser will have your profile and you shouldn't have to re-sign in again.
Organizing your Google Drive can save a lot of time searching for files in the future! Check out this resource to help create folders for each student you support, share them with classroom Teachers, and prevent your Drive from becoming a scary place! 😱

The ugcloud landing page is your one-stop shop for the tools, platforms, and website links UGDSB staff use and access on a daily basis. When you are signed into the Chrome browser, you will have this page as a pre-loaded bookmark in the upper left right underneath your address bar. Students have a landing page too, which looks similar, but without access to educator tools or websites. 🙌
