Short biography 


Lamine Diop started his university studies at Gaston Berger University (UGB) in Saint-Louis, Senegal, following his Scientific Baccalaureate S1 in 2011 at Lycée d'enseignement général de Diourbel. In 2013, he earned his general university degree (D.E.U.G) in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (MAI). Subsequently, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and then completed his Master’s degree in the following two years.

In 2016, he chose the path of a research master's program in Informatique et Technologies de l’information et de la communication (M2 ITIC) at UGB. During the same year, he was selected by Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis to pursue a Master 2 at the University François-Rabelais of Tours as part of a double degree agreement for the 2016-2017 academic year. This led to him earning a double master’s degree in computer science from both universities.

In January 2018, Lamine embarked on a Ph.D. journey at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis, Senegal. His primary research interests include pattern sampling, semantic web, and distributed databases. He successfully defended his thesis entitled "Echantillonnage sous contraintes de motifs structurés (Constrained Sampling of Structured Patterns)" in June 2020, after 2 and a half years. His exceptional contribution to research was recognized with the Prix de thèse de la communauté d'Extraction et Gestion de Connaissances (EGC'2021) in Montpelier.

Following the completion of his thesis, he pursued a postdoctoral position from September 2020 to August 2021 in the field of Semantic Web. During the same year, he obtained the qualification of MCF (lecturer) and served as an ATER at the University of Tours from September 2021 to August 2022. Since September 1, 2022, he has held the position of associate professor at EPITA Lyon.
