In this reel, I break down a few essential AP style rules in a quick, conversational format. Creating this taught me how to simplify complex editing concepts and communicate them clearly to audiences with short attention spans,  an important skill for any journalist working in digital media. Moving around to different locations on UGA's campus allows the watcher to stay engaged and watch for the duration of my video. 

Millage Rates Reel

In this reel, I explain what millage rates are and who they affect through a conversational discussion with a classmate. To make the concept more tangible, I used Tiger Woods as an example, prompting my classmate to consider how millage rates impact both everyday residents and high-profile individuals. Creating this piece helped me practice breaking down complex local government topics and presenting them in a relatable way, an essential skill for community reporting.

In this reel, I review everything I learned in Reporting II, specifically regarding the Education beat in Athens. Athens has a unique position as it is the epicenter for a major university, and home to many school systems, the main one being Clarke County.
