The French-Brazilian collaboration on quantum and atomic physics has been ongoing for more than 40 years now, and the recent International Research Project (IRP) granted by the French CNRS, along with the International Project granted by the Brazilian CNPq, aim to support this long-lasting joint effort. More recently focused on the quantum transport of light and cold matter, this joint workshop gathers researchers from both countries to discuss the recent developments in the field, and future directions.
This workshop addresses the quantum properties of both light and matter, exploring exotic phases such as superfluids or Bose-Einstein condensates and their turbulent regimes, Rydberg atoms and their reactions to neighbouring surfaces, cold atoms in high-finesse cavities or in free space, atomic entangled states generated by the exchange of photons, and quantum states of light emitted by ensembles of atomic emitters. The main topics of interest are the following:
Transport of cold matter: superfluidity, quantum turbulence
Transport of light: collective scattering, dipole-dipole interactions, superradiance, optical coherence
Quantum sensing: squeezed states in free space and in optical cavities, Rydberg atoms close to surfaces

Program - Preliminary version
Venue
The school takes place in Peyresq, a mountain village at an altitude of 1500m. Therefore the nights are fresh, so bring a good sweater and a raincoat. There are no shop so do not forget your toothpaste, etc. There is the possibility to buy drinks there, yet you should bring cash.
Accommodation and meals (full board) in Peyresq will be provided.
Transport: A shuttle from Nice airport to Peyresq will be provided by the organization:
departure on Monday 21/07, 15h at Terminal 2 of Nice airport,
return leaving Peyresq on Friday 25/07 at 14h at Terminal 2 of Nice airport, arrival estimated at 16h30.
Finally, Peyresq offers excellent hiking trails, so do not forget your hiking equipment!
