If you are an Adult, ages 18+ and have a passion and a desire to work with youth and share your knowledge, please reach out to the Martin County 4-H Office. We have long term and short term volunteering opportunities available, in areas such as guest speaking, being a guest judge for a contest, hosting workshops/teaching specific skills, or running a 4-H club.
A great resource for digestible handouts on 4-H topics is the Ask IFAS powered by EDIS which can be found here: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/
You can search either 4-H or a specific topic within 4-H for more information!
Club Check Request
The Request for Reimbursement or Funds Form must be completed and submitted to the 4-H office via email, drop-off, or mail. You can also pick up a copy of the form in the 4-H office. Accompanying the request form must be an invoice(s) or receipt(s). All must be present for a reimbursement or payment check to be cut.
The process for receiving funds:
The club (youth) votes and marks in the minutes the use of “x” amount of funds for “y” activity or event.
The leader or co-leader makes the purchase.
The leader or co-leader fills out the Form.
The leader or co-leader submits the Form with the supporting data (Club minutes as well as invoice/PO or receipts for intended spending) to the office.
The office receives and reviews the request.
The office cuts the reimbursement check to the individual or a payment check to the company.
The 4-H account signers come to sign the check.
Please note that if a request is over $500, additional time may be required as a second signature is needed.
Club Deposits
The Deposit of Funds Form must be filled out, with detailed descriptions (such as club name, amount, and check number), and signed by the leader dropping off the deposit. Please note in the description if it is a sponsorship, club dues, fundraiser, etc. Deposits must be made within three weeks of receiving the funds.
In the club treasurer's manual you will find helpful documents and policies/best practices for managing club funds and the financial side of 4-H. Each club should have a treasurer and be utilizing the treasurer's manual in their club meetings.
Communicate with the 4-H Agent before you plan a fundraiser to be sure it falls within what is allowed in 4-H. To help, you can fill out this form and send it to the 4-H Agent at least 30 days before the fundraiser is to start.

The Florida 4-H Standards of Excellence for Youth provides an opportunity for 4-H youth at each age level (Cloverbud, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior) to recognized for their 4-H participation and achievements. This recognition is based on how closely each member's performance matches the standard, not the performances of other youth.
4-H member participation and achievements can be documented on the Florida 4-H Standard of Excellence application and submitted to the county 4-H office. Counties may recognize youth with certificates, ribbons or another type of award. Teaching young people skills needed to meet or achieve standards has a lifelong benefit. 4-H has excelled in recognizing 4-H'ers who have achieved standards of excellence.
