Annual Fishing Tournament

The Annual Lee County 4-H Foundation Fishing Tournament will be held on May 11th, 2024. 


The Lee County 4-H Foundation hosts the annual family fishing tournament which funds the Lee County 4-H Foundation Scholarship and additional 4-H events throughout the year as needed.


The scholarship was established in 2009 and is awarded each year to Lee County 4-H Youth. The graduating Seniors who apply and are seeking higher education at a college/university or vocational/technical school. All qualified applicants are given a scholarship. A special committee reviews and rates each application carefully before the scholarships are awarded at the annual year-end 4-H Banquet.

To Participate in the Fishing Tournament

To participate in the fishing tournament, please visit the eventbrite here or fill out the paper registration form on the brochure to the left and mail it in. 

This is a catch and release saltwater tournament that is open to all youth and adults, on either boat or land!

Please read all tournament rules thoroughly:

1. This is a catch & release tournament. No fish are weighed.

2. Anglers are responsible to follow all State and Federal fishing regulations.

3. Anglers may fish from shore, bridge, pier or vessel. Fish must be caught with a rod/reel/line and hook using live bait or artificial lures.

4. Fishing for this tournament may begin at 7:00 a.m. or at safe daylight from any location.

5. Each angler/team may turn in total inch measurements of 1 Redfish, 2 Trout and 1 Mystery fish (announced at Angler meeting).

6. Total combined measurement of all 4 fish is used to determine winners.

7. Anglers must take a photo of each fish caught with their index card and the fish measurements, and record the total inches of each fish caught on the official tournament record sheet.

8. Tournament check-in will begin at noon and no later than 3:00 p.m. at the designated official check-in station with your official tournament record sheet and photos of all fish located at the 4-H Office.

9. Tie-breakers are determined by the first angler/team checking in at the official check-in station.

10. In the event of unsafe or inclement weather, cancellation of all or part of the event will be at the discretion of the tournament coordinators.

11. In the case of tournament cancellations, or registered anglers not able to attend, the entry fee (s) will be retained by the Lee County 4-H Foundation for the 4-H Scholarship Fund.

12. Registered anglers/team captains must attend the Angler Meeting on May 10, 2024 @ 6:30 p.m. at the 4-H Office located at the NFM Recreation Center.

The Lee County 4-H Foundation, Inc. is coordinating a fundraiser fishing tournament for our 4-H Scholarship fund and seeking sponsorship for this event. This fundraising tournament began 12 years ago and provides scholarships to graduating Lee County 4-H youth to further their education in college or vocational training.

 

4-H is a Nationally recognized youth program teaching leadership, citizenship and life skills through various hands on learning projects. We are working diligently to raise as much funds as possible for the growing number of the Lee County youth that apply and are eligible for these scholarships.

Lee County 4-H Foundation Senior Scholarship

The Lee County 4-H Foundation Senior Scholarship is open to any graduating High School Senior who has completed one year of 4-H in Lee County and is attending a Trade school, Community College, or University is invited to apply. 

To apply, print and fill out the form to the left. The form and required supporting materials must then be mailed to the Foundation at the P.O. Box Provided. 

The completed application packet must be received in the 4-H office OR postmarked no later than July 1st, 2024.
