Infrastructure
The PPGPA has a coordination and secretariat room, a classroom, 09 laboratories in the New Graduate Building, 01 laboratory in the Research Laboratories Section, in addition to several multi-user laboratories available at UFAPE.
A new UFAPE Graduate and Research building has guaranteed resources from the MEC, through the NEW PAC, in the amount of R$ 4,500,000.00 and is in the architectural, structural, electrical and hydraulic project elaboration phase, with a forecast of launching the bidding notice in May 2025. The new building has a size of 723 square meters and contains 07 classrooms, an auditorium seating 196 people. The building will also house the entire administrative structure of the Pro-Rectory of Research, Graduate Studies and Innovation distributed as follows: 01 collective room for the coordinators of the Graduate Programs (PPG), 01 collective room for the secretaries of the PPG, 01 room for the Pro-Rector (PRPPGI) and secretariat, 01 meeting room, 03 rooms for the PRPPGI departments, in addition to rooms for Scientific and Technological Initiation programs, Startups.
Laboratories of Excellence
In addition to the Biotechnology Laboratory located in the Research Laboratories Section, a new Graduate Laboratories building (Graduate Laboratories Section) was inaugurated in September 2024. In this building, 15 laboratories are located on 3 floors. Each laboratory has an area of 52 square meters. All floors have male and female bathrooms, as well as one for people with special needs. On two floors, there are also two pantries equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler and microwave. Outside the building there are two rooms for storing and preparing samples and stocking materials. In addition, there is also a room for special gases.
Of the 15 laboratories, 06 were allocated to the Animal Science and Pasture Program. The PPGPA has 09 laboratories, dimensioned to meet the specific needs of the area. The 09 laboratories are led by a permanent professor and are used by several permanent and collaborating professors as well as others from UFAPE. The laboratories are multi-user and are available to users from UFAPE and other institutions in Brazil and abroad.
