Welcome to the Upper Dublin School District Choir Website. The UDHS Concert Choir is a mixed ensemble who enjoy singing and would like to improve their individual technical abilities through the preparation and performance of a wide variety of concert literature. No experience is necessary for participation. Occasional evening and/or after school rehearsals are required. Students who enjoy singing and would like to enhance their individual technique are encouraged to join this large and active ensemble. Participation All students are accountable for all in class rehearsal as well as full choir rehearsals and performances. If you are absent from school please present a gray card to Mr. Arnold during your next class. Participation points can be made up by:
Attending an extra class during a study hall
Singing given passages of music from our literature for Mr. Arnold
Rehearsing any vocal assignment in the practice rooms for at least ½ hour.
Volunteering for Star-Spangled Banner performances
ABSOLUTELY NO Gum, food, cell phones, books, or other homework out during instructional time. After school or night rehearsals will be scheduled well in advance for the students. Any conflicts need to be accounted for with a parent email or telephone message. Concerts - All ensemble concerts are mandatory and on the school calendar. If you are unable to attend a concert you must make up the grade with a written assignment. Audition, 18 members, 4 per voice part, 1-2 Vocal Percussion
Students cannot miss more than 3 rehearsals unexcused to receive credit.
Will perform for various in-school and out-of-school functions during the Spring Semester, Small Ensembles Concert, MIOSM, and Spring Concert
Appropriate Performance DressPerformance attire is of utmost importance and is the first impression at any concert! Please adhere to the following rules for performance dress: Performance Dress for all Students
Black Dress Shirt or Blouse, NO jackets, NO logos
Black Dress Slacks or Long Skirt
Black Dress Socks or Black Leggings
Comfortable Shoes (Preferably Dark Color)
Red tie or Red Splash above the waist (this can have a pattern on it but the principle color MUST be Cardinal Red)
