Teaching methods of the teacher
I observed a Grade 12 classroom taught by Mr. Eric B Dacayanan. The class I observed was a Grade 12 class, which usually focused on essay and thesis writing. In each session, the teacher would check the progress of each group and provide detailed and specific feedback every week. I really appreciated the way the teacher gave advice — it was practical and easy to understand, helping each group clearly see what needed improvement.
In some sessions where students weren’t presenting their work, the class was still conducted in a serious but engaging manner. The teacher often made jokes in Filipino, which lightened the mood. Although I asked my buddy — who observed the class with me — to explain the jokes, I still didn’t quite understand them. However, the students seemed to really enjoy them; they laughed a lot, which created a very positive classroom atmosphere — not too stressful, but not too noisy either.
