Week 2. Activity 2 Social Media War Research & Testimony
Reflection
In this activity, I researched the war in Syria and the impact of social media on the dissemination of information and testimonies. Before starting, I was curious, but also doubtful about the authenticity of my sources. While conducting the research, I was struck by the stories of those affected and the way the media portrays the conflict. At the end, I was left with a feeling of unease at how social media can amplify voices but also distort reality. I learned that war is not only a political confrontation, but a human tragedy with devastating consequences. This led me to ask myself: How can we distinguish between legitimate information and propaganda in times of war? What responsibility do digital platforms have in the dissemination of content about conflict?

Week 5. Activity 1 Opinion Column (Part 3) Writing and Delivery
Reflection
In this activity, I researched the global impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Before starting, I knew it was a serious conflict, but I didn't fully understand its magnitude. As I delved deeper into the information, I was struck by the devastating consequences, from the millions displaced and thousands of deaths to the energy crisis in Europe and the disruption to food supplies. By the end, I felt deeply concerned about the global instability it has generated. I learned that regional conflicts can have worldwide effects and that diplomacy is key to mitigating their consequences. This led me to ask myself: How can governments act effectively to prevent conflicts of this scale? What role do international organizations play in finding peaceful solutions?

Reflection
During my studies in semesters 3, 4, 5, and 6, I learned a lot. In semester 3, I improved my understanding of English and learned useful vocabulary. In semester 4, I focused on grammar, which improved my writing skills. In semester 5, I developed my conversational skills by participating in debates. Finally, in semester 6, I learned how to write important documents for my degree. In semester 3, I felt my skills were limited, but now I feel much more confident communicating in English. These skills will be invaluable as I pursue my degree, as they will allow me to interact with more people and access new courses and opportunities. I am very grateful to UDEM and my professors for all the knowledge and support I have received. This learning experience will open many doors for me in the future.
