The annual “COIL Awards” event, organized by the Department of Internationalization at Home and International Cooperation, presents academic authorities with the results and best practices of COIL projects developed by Udem's faculty during the year.
In addition, it is a space for professors to socialize and highlights a teacher who, due to their innovation and track record, shares their project and testimony of best practices with the Coiler community.
The Special Recognitions highlight the commitment and trajectory of UDEM faculty members who implement the COIL methodology in their courses. Based on their experience and the number of COIL projects completed, they are classified as Trainee, Junior, or Senior, and one outstanding faculty member from each category is selected each year for their impact on collaborative learning, international teamwork, and intercultural competence.
The classification is granted based on the number of groups taught using the COIL methodology.
Trainee: Faculty member who has implemented the COIL methodology in 1 to 5 groups.
Junior: Faculty member who has implemented the COIL methodology in 6 to 11 groups.
Senior: Faculty member who has implemented the COIL methodology in 12 or more groups.
Objective: Recognize faculty members who have implemented COIL projects with high academic, international, social, and institutional impact, contributing to the strengthening of internationalization at home and UDEM’s global profile.
