I decided to take this course because it's one of the specialization courses required for the M.Ed. in Educational Technology degree. I think that taking core courses along with an elective instead of taking two core courses at once is probably wise, given that I'm limited to two courses per semester with my employee tuition benefit! I think that this strategy will allow me to fulfill the degree requirements while also letting me enjoy the sandbox of the electives.

In looking through the modules, I think that my goal for this course will be to improve my web design skills with a focus on accessibility. I feel strongly that educational materials should be accessible to anyone who wishes to access them, and I imagine that it's very frustrating when things aren't formatted so that screen readers can process them. Web design is an area in which I have some skills and experience, so I think building on those will be a good use of my labs.
