My journey in the field of education began in the fall of 2009 when I was recruited to support four ELI students as they took their very first University of Delaware class, Anthropology 101, through the Bridge Program. It was the first time I had ever considered venturing into a career in education. Two years later, I began the MA TESL degree at UD and subsequently earned my state of Delaware K-12 certification. I began teaching at the University of Delaware's English Language Institute the same week that I graduated with my MA TESL in 2013.
I taught 6th-8th grade ELA for ESL students at George Read Middle School from 2015-2018. Those three years of serving at-risk youth taught me more about teaching than the 6 prior years of study and teaching.

I have taught ESL at the University of Delaware's English Language Institute (ELI) for six years. While my expertise is in teaching the lower levels, I have taught at least one class at every level that the ELI offers.
