Ultimately, we have discovered that the decision to either leave or stay in Syria is a highly personal one. Violence and corruption within the Syrian government certainly motivated millions to leave the country, but a large portion of the country chose to remain in their homes or within the country despite its presence. Each decision, whether to leave or whether to stay, poses its own unique challenges and risks, with homelessness, separation of families, hunger, and potentially death being possible outcomes of either.
