This website is designed to help adult learners make better instructional decisions by allowing the option to seek out information based on student need, at their own piece. According to how How People Learn, people need to connect new information to concepts already learned and that people are motivated to learn to solve problems. Teachers would seek out this resource to help them solve instructional dilemmas. They have students that are able to decode, but are not fluent readers or students who are fluent and are working to build a deeper comprehension. Often, these students are overlooked, because they are doing an okay job in the classroom, so teachers either don’t meet with them or are unsure how to structure their small group to be beneficial. This website will be a resource for them to fill literacy knowledge gaps and for lesson ideas for use with their students. The websites builds knowledge from the bottom up in an attempt to account for a variety in preexisting understandings across teachers. Through videos and outside links, information is presented through different multimedia outlets to provide deeper learning than from just words. Ideally the use of this website will be paired with face to face professional learning, creating a blended learning environment for teachers.
