What is comprehension?
Reading comprehension is the action of a reader taking information from the text and constructing meaning. The reader must have motivation or a purpose to read, appropriate knowledge (vocabulary, topic knowledge, comprehension strategies), and cognitive capacities to handle the text (Snow, 2002).
