Urban Bike Project of Wilmington's annual Commuter Challenge Time Trial happens on Monkey Hill, starting at 5pm on Friday, May 15, 2026. If you visit the webpage you can see among other things a video that shows some silly old professor stoking a tandem with his knees hitting his chin -- the seat post fell underneath me, due to some combination of my being overweight and/or not having tightened it enough before riding, but we did make it up the hill - the headgear and costumery reflect our Ship-of-Fools theme. Anyway, it's as much fun to watch as it is to participate in, so consider checking it out.

Similar installations are on eastbound Centre Road near Barley Mill Plaza and other convenient locations in the First State.
