(placeholder for W=FT textile sample)
In the lab, we are working on creating a material resource and asset for designers and students. We are looking to commission textile makers to sample re/manufactured cotton textiles comprised of 80% clothing waste. We are looking for spinning, weaving, knitting, non-woven like felt or surface designer (freehand embroidery as structure) to do contract sampling (12x12) and one sample yardage (3 yd x variable width.)
If you are interested in a temporary sample commission=you would be listed the commissioned textile designer (this is for an academic re/manufactured textile resource that will be digitized as well) the samples will be housed in our archive at The University of Delaware. I will provide clean/processed post-consumer textile waste materials (from Goodwill of DE/we have ribbons and shred or can process to your specification-you can also get a bag of stuff and see what happens.)
Share this with capable makers that might have time in their schedule to focus on sampling? If you are interested email: kcobb@udel.edu. If this is your area of expertise, and you have current availability, I would want to talk about possibilities. Pay will be based on experience (compensation will be hourly or flat fee-depending on expertise.)
Spinning is an urgent need.
