Summary:
Bart has gotten a new dog, "Laddie" (based on the famous movie dog "Lassie.") Milhouse praises Laddie, who can be seen catching a frisbee in the background. He also insults Bart's old Dog, "Santa's Little Helper," accusing him of eating his goldfish.
Transcript
MH: Boy, Bart! Laddie's the best dog in the world! He's nothing like your old dog.
B: Santa's Little Helper? Guess I was the only one who loved him.
M.H: You got that right! Remember the time he ate my goldfish, and you lied to me and said I never had any goldfish? But why did I have the bowl, Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
Idioms:
"He's nothing like" (He's much better than)

Now you practice:
Milhouse makes a deduction about the past based on evidence. If Milhouse never had any goldfish, he would not have had a fish bowl. His memory of the fish bowl leads him to conclude that Bart was lying to him.
Write your own "deduction" based on the following scenario.
1) Your friend tells you have never had any interest in music.
2) You remember you once bought a guitar.
3) In fact, you kept a guitar in your dorm all through college.
"You say I never had any interest in music..."
Email your scenario to jpenna@udel.edu for this week's Simpson's practice.
