Meetings will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6pm (EDT) between May 15 and June 1 (except for the Memorial Day holiday), and Monday to Thursday from 3-6pm (EDT) the week of June 5. Participants are expected to participate during the entire three hour session (brief breaks will be scheduled in each session). These sessions will include lectures and participatory exercises. In addition, participants are expected to review asynchronously about one hour of readings and/or pre-recorded lecture material. An optional homework help session will be offered for each module.
Also, participants receiving or planning to receive course credit will be required to complete homework and complete a group project. The groups will be expected to schedule regular meetings to work on their project. The requirements and commitment are consistent with a 3-credit class.
Professor Sue McNeil (University of Delaware) serves as the course coordinator (smcneil@udel.edu).
OPTIONS
Registration for and participation in the Advanced Infrastructure Management Bootcamp is possible in several different ways:
Graduate Students
1) Current University of Delaware Graduate Students can register for independent study credit for Fall 2023 and participate in the bootcamp as scheduled.
2) Graduate students at other institutions can seek independent study credit from their home institution.
Format
Graduate students are expected to opt for a fully virtual class or a hybrid class. The hybrid option will provide opportunities for project team members to work together in person on the University of Delaware campus. For graduate students participating in the hybrid option who are not from Delaware, accomodation options will be provided and assistance in getting from Philadelphia Airport or the Wilmington Amtrak station will be provided.
Focus
Graduate students will also indicate if they would prefer to work on a highway-focused or a rail-focused project. Project teams will be assembled so that all team members have opted for the same format and type of project.
Commitment
While there is no charge for Bootcamp, graduate students are expected to commit to the entire course and participate in all activities.
