History of Advanced Infrastructure Management Bootcamp
Advanced Infrastructure Management (AIM) Bootcamp has been a two-week long intensive course. The graduate level course brings together students and instructors across the universities and colleges with Infrastructure Management programs. The objective is to provide an opportunity for students to gain in-depth knowledge, apply by implementing a mini-project, and network the students who have similar interests.
AIM bootcamp was originally developed under the leadership of Professor Sue McNeil, with assistance from several internationally renowned leaders in asset management and infrastructure management, and has been first offered at the University of Delaware in 2010, followed by Georgia Tech. (2012), Virginia Tech. (2014), Oklahoma State Uni. (2016) and University of Delaware (2018). The course is offered for academic credit. Grades are assigned based on participation in discussions, performance on assignments given by each instructor, and a course project. Past course projects have matched students with transportation professionals to provide students with experience solving timely/practical problems.
In 2018, we welcomed professionals who participated in individual modules as part of a continuing education offering.
In 2023, we are offering both bootcamp and individual modules in an online format (including synchronous instruction) and a hybrid format. Graduate student participants can also choose a highway focused or railroad focused group project.
