Recreating an ADA sign
This assignment asked me to use a photo provided by my professor of ADA guidelines at a gas station and to rewrite the instructions provided to make it more easily readable and accessible for people outside or in their cars. We needed to incorporate visual cues, large and readable typefaces, and colors that matched well with each other so that our audience, who we assume is disabled, can easily read it at the gas pump. It was a lot of fun recreating the slightly problematic original instructions to make them easier to read and comprehend with writing and design skills that I learned throughout the entire semester.Â
The original has too much text, is too small to read, doesn't incorporate enough photographs, and it's hard to find the information you need to access the gas pump.
