Greetings from foggy San Francisco!
I am really excited to work with all of you and get to know you better over the next few months. I am from Boston originally, but have lived in California for the past four years.
I love hiking, cooking and baking (and eating), scrapbooking, yoga, camping, reading, traveling, science, and trivia. I'm a big sci-fi fan, and particularly enjoy Star Wars (original trilogy, obviously), Star Trek (TOS and TNG), Stephen King, and anything by Joss Whedon. Send me your recommendations- I'm always looking for new books, shows, and movies!
*Please note that as of November 1, Dan is no longer working with Udacity. Please continue to direct all questions to Kathleen!

My name is Dan, I’m from the UK but have lived in beautiful Berlin for the last seven years. I’m thrilled to be working with you all on the scholarship because despite studying anthropology I am a data convert, having worked with quantitative social impact studies in my last job, and I believe in the transformative power of data in organisations, governments, and more broadly in society. I have worked in and for democratic education and sports projects for the past four years in Germany, South Africa, Afghanistan and the US and along with the data angle I am hugely excited to work with such an international and diverse group of students.
