NEW Year 9 OMAM SoL - TERM 1 (2018/19)

Of Mice and Men

This term you will be studying John Steinbeck's 'Of Mice and Men'. During this study, you will analyse the way Steinbeck uses setting and character symbolically.

Homework

You will be completing homework on a digital platform called 'Bedrock Vocabulary'. You will learn a wide range of new vocabulary, while reading lots of fiction and non-fiction and completing a range of activities to help you learn the words.

This will be your homework throughout the academic year.

Term 2

Year 9 The Writer's Craft SoL - TERM 2 (NEW 2018/19)

Creative Writing

This term you will be writing creatively. This will involve you producing both narrative and descriptive writing.

Term 3

NEW Year 9 Power and Conflict Poetry SoL (2018 onwards)

Power and Conflict POetry

This term you will begin studying the 'Power and Conflict' section of the Poetry Anthology. This will involve learning how to answer English Literature, Paper 2, Section B.

Term 4

This term you will begin studying William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. This will involve learning how to answer English Literature, Paper 1, Section A.
