Industry Day is a day where many industry members attend and give valuable skills such as interview questions and advice on how to advance in your engineering career. During T-Prep we provide a resume workshop with peer reviews on Monday, and mock interviews with industry members on Tuesday. This is a day of networking, mentorship, and learning...no need to feel intimidated!
All participating industry members will receive access to the Transfer Prep Resume Bank as a thank you for attending! Take some time to set up your resume before Transfer Prep. Upload your resume to the Resume Bank by August 18. Here are some tips:
Upload a PDF document
Title your document Major_FirstInitial.LastName (ex: Computer Engineering_J.Duerr)
Don't have a resume yet? No worries. See below for some resources to help you advance your resume.
During Industry Day, you will also participate in Mock Interviews with these industry representatives! It is a great way to get experience in a no-judgement environment. For a sneak peak, here are the questions the industry might ask you during your interview.
Tell me about yourself?
What is your greatest strength and an area of improvement?
Tell me about a challenge you faced and how you dealt with it?
Tell us about a time you showed leadership in a group - what was the outcome?
When you are not doing a mock interview, we'll have a professional photographer available for you to take a headshot for your LinkedIn profile! Please dress accordingly. You can also use this time to take pictures with the Transfer Prep crew!
In keeping with the theme of professional mentorship, you will have the opportunity to have sit-down chats over dinner with industry. Bring your questions!
