Transfer Prep is a 4-day (August 24, 2025 - August 27, 2025) that will provide a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to create strong relationships with peers, build on academic and professional skills for to enhance the UC San Diego experience, and provide mentorship opportunities with current engineering undergraduate transfer students, as well as industry, staff and faculty. The goal of Transfer Prep is for students to receive support in making their transition and build awareness of relevant campus programs and resources.
As part of these 4-days, we expect a high level of engagement, responsibility, and attention from every participant so that they can receive the full benefits of the program. The following agreement outlines specific expectations required for full participation in Transfer Prep:
CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS
Participation in the Transfer Prep is a privilege to students enrolled, and we are proud to support students of diverse backgrounds and experiences. As such, we expect a code of conduct that values respect and care for all peoples. Students who participate in behavior that is not in alignment with UC San Diego’s Principles of Community will be subject to disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the program without reimbursement.
Upon application, all attendees acknowledged the following Transfer Prep expectations and agreed to following statements:
I agree to not assume anything about anyone's culture, background, religion, citizenship, or their identities, and will help create an inclusive environment for everyone around me.
I will fully engage in all activities during Transfer Prep, including attentiveness during workshops and participation in group discussions.
I understand that I must be a Fall 2025 first-year transfer student in order to participate.
I understand that if I do not comply with the UCSD’s Principles of Community that I may be dismissed from the program.
I understand that the IDEA Center reserves the right to ask any individual who has violated local, state or federal laws and university policy to go home immediately.
I understand that Transfer Prep is a 4-day commitment and that, in order to participate in the program, I must follow all of the above expectations.
