Why does MedDash Matter?
Many reasons people are reluctant to become users tend to lie in digital health design and security. Clinicians often face information overload and struggle to access the necessary data to prescribe or diagnose a patient via digital health technology. This is why literacy in digital health education is extremely important, and it goes both ways.
350 million people with undiagnosed or rare diseases
No personalized treatment because lack of data
Sense of confusion and helplessness
Clinical Decision Support (CDS)
Clinical Decision Support, is health information or prescriptions provided digitally via computerized notifications and reminders for clinicians or patients.
User Experience
A huge aspect of improving user design actually comes from improving ease and usability for an older demographic. This is because the patient demographic for those using Med-Dash generally tend to be elderly and the fact that the elderly are not especially tech-savvy ;and would greatly benefit from a simple, accessible design, which should in turn enhance app feasibility for all ages.
Data Security/Syncing
Medical data specifically raises privacy concerns because there is an unequal relationship between patient and clinician: in order to receive treatment, people often have to agree to privacy terms and conditions set by the provider.
