Sharon Rose
Professor, Department of Linguistics
PhD McGill University, MA Université du Québec à Montréal, BA (Hon.) University of Toronto
My research is on phonological typology and the description and analysis of African languages, with specialization in Kordofanian languages of Sudan, and Semitic languages of Ethiopia and Eritrea.
My current research is investigating vowel harmony from the individual language-level, as well as from a typological and processing perspective. I am also working on grammatical tone and prosody in the Heiban languages, Rere and Tira.
**New papers with Sarah Creel and Michael Obiri-Yeboah on musical pitch processing by speakers of tone languages and on Akan vowel perception.
