O-PTIR + Raman Spectroscopy

The mIRage IR Microscope combines the proprietary technique of Optical Photothermal IR (O-PTIR) spectroscopy with Raman spectroscopy. The instrument bridges the limit of traditional FTIR microscopy bringing imaging into the submicron region. Unlike ATR, the instrument does not require contact with the sample surface, minimizing the risk of damage or contamination. This also allows for further imaging into previously difficult sample surfaces like valleys, rough patches, sticky surfaces, etc. Little to no sample preparation is required for this instrument because of its no contact nature allowing for easy measurements.

This is the world's first IR+Raman microscopy system. Dual spectra can be taken simultaneously giving both the advantages of O-PTIR complemented by Raman microscopy. The Grassian Group utilizes this new instrument in imaging of samples across the areas of life sciences, metal thin films, atmospheric samples, and more. We hope to use the instrument as an environmental cell to perform groundbreaking atmospheric research
