This week, I continue my regular study routine for CSE 15L. Even though there wasn't a skill demonstration, I made sure to review the class materials. I focused on understanding the concepts thoroughly and reinforcing my knowledge. I spent time going through the labs and making sure I grasped the key ideas. This week was more about maintaining a steady learning pace and staying consistent with my study habits.
This week, my main goal was to prepare for the upcoming skill demonstration in Week 6. I dedicated time to reviewing the labs, ensuring that I had a good understanding of the practical aspects of the course. I revisited the concepts learned in previous weeks, paying special attention to areas that are crucial for the skill demo. This week was all about reinforcing my understanding of the material and gearing up for the skill demo in the next week.
This week, I followed my regular study routine and had a skill demonstration. I made sure to stay consistent with my studies, revisiting class materials and reinforcing what I've learned. The skill demonstration went well, and I feel more confident in applying the concepts from the course.
In Week 7, I focused on a lab report about using a debugger called jdb to find bugs. This helped me understand debugging better. Additionally, I spent time reviewing the material for the upcoming skill demonstration in the next week. It was important to be well-prepared and have a good grasp of the concepts.
This week, I had another skill demonstration and worked on a lab report. I made sure to review the class materials and redo some past skill demonstrations to improve my grades. It was a comprehensive week of applying what I've learned, both in practice and theory. Staying consistent with my study routine proved beneficial in preparing for assessments and reinforcing my understanding of the course material.
What did you think of the application?
I think the application can help me review the study logs and understand my study habits.
Was it easy to use?
It was not quite easy to use.
What did you like most and why?
I like the way it shows a bar chart and pie chart according to my records, which shows clearly how much time I spent on different learning categories.
What did you like least and why?
I don't like entering the specific start and end time one by one, instead of just entering the time spent on studying. And it would be better if it can remember what learning categories are chosen for each class, so that we don't need to choose them every time.
What feature was the most helpful to your academic journey?
The most helpful feature would be showing the chart which is easy to view and helps to adjust study plans.
What did you learn about your study habits from doing the learning log?
From doing learning logs, I learned that I like to study something each day with fewer time, instead of studying bunch of materials in one day. I think this is a good habit. It is good for remembering and understanding materials and helps to avoid procrastination.
What was your most recent learning barriers?
My most recent learning barrier was struggling to manage time effectively between multiple assignments and the concurrent course, causing stress and a sense of overload.
What worked and what didn’t through your learning process?
Effective time management strategies, such as prioritizing tasks and setting specific study times, worked well. However, procrastination was a challenge. Establishing a routine and breaking down tasks helped alleviate this issue.
What were the outcomes of these learning events?
Implementing better time management led to increased productivity and a more balanced workload. However, occasional procrastination affected the quality of my work, emphasizing the need for consistent focus and discipline.
How did creating a learning log help you through these processes?
Creating a learning log served as a helpful self-reflection tool. It allowed me to identify patterns in my habits and assess the effectiveness of my strategies. Reviewing the log regularly provided insights into areas for improvement and helped me stay accountable for my learning goals.
