Academic Student Employees
Students are eligible to apply for Instructional Assistant (IA), Teaching Assistant (TA), Reader, or Tutor positions within UC San Diego.
Open positions can be found under "Instructional Assistant Employment" using the following link: https://grad.ucsd.edu/financial/employment/opportunities/index.html
If selected for these positions, you will be responsible for paying any course fees originating from enrollment in the courses required for the IA/TA-ship or reader/tutor position. This means, paying an additional $951.00 per unit of the course you are required to enroll in. Our department/program will NOT be providing any support towards these course fees associated with an IA, TA, reader, or Tutor appointment.
Partial Fee Remission
The total amount covered by fee remission per quarter is $6,913.25 and any other costs associated with the program would still remain on your financial balance.
Notifying DDMP
Dr. Ma and Dr. Ettouati will have to approve any type of TA employment for DDPM students, before proceeding with accepting any offers. Please also notify your Graduate Coordinator, Kiana Adams via email (kiadams@ucsd.edu) if you apply for one of these appointments so she can facilitate the approval process.
If you are applying to one of these positions, and the application asks you to name a faculty advisor, the most appropriate faculty would be Dr. Ma or Dr. Ettouati if you can’t bypass the faculty adviser field.
