AI to PCR: Utilizing AI to Create PCR Probes for Early COVID Variant Detection

Abstract
There is a demonstrated need for an AI to PCR pipeline for early detection of COVID Variants. This involves utilizing KEvolve to identify specific mutation regions, synthesizing custom probes and primers, and running an RT-PCR assay to assess the efficacy of the AI-synthesized probes and primers in detecting COVID variants. A low cost, mini PCR machine was designed to use in conjunction with the AI probes and primers, showing reliable thermocycling capabilities between the Annealing (60 C) and Denaturation (90C) temperatures. The AI probes and primers were shown to reliably distinguish between EG.5.1 and Delta COVID variants, as well as Influenza.
