Socy 105A is an in-person class with no remote option. If you do not currently have your schedule cleared to attend our on-campus lectures (MWF 2:40pm-3:45pm in Kresge 3201), please make arrangements to do so right away. Your attendance in lecture and in your assigned discussion section will be worth 40% of your total course grade and is critical to your success. Please note that I cannot make any exceptions to the in-person requirement (that decision is, as they say, above my pay grade 🤣). If you cannot attend both lectures and sections in person this quarter, you will need to take this class another time.
You should have registered for a discussion section when you registered for the class. Discussion sections are mandatory (and helpful!), so you must be registered in one and attend the one that you are registered for. For people looking to swap into a different section, you can either enroll in one of the remaining open sections or you can see if you can find someone to trade with -- I'll talk about this on the first day of class. If you can't remember which section you registered for, please check your portal.
Discussion sections will begin during Week 2 (January 15th). They will not meet at all during Week 1.
