Books from the Oakes Lending Library may only be checked out between week 1 to week 6. Ensure we have the book you need and fill out the form as soon as the application period opens.

Welcome to the Oakes Textbook Drop-off System! 🎉 This initiative is designed to help Oakes College students contribute to the growth of the Oakes Library by donating textbooks they no longer need. Your participation ensures that our library stays current and remains a valuable resource for all students. Together, we can make a difference! 🌟

📘 Eligible Donations: Textbooks from any academic subject are welcome! Whether it’s from a GE course or your major, every contribution counts. 💡
📝 Feedback Form: Fill out a brief feedback form during the event. Your input helps us refine this system to better serve our community.
🎊 Support Future Events: This drop-off event is part of our larger initiative The Big One, The Bigger One, and The Biggest One, which features a 24 hours study jam that are usually held during finals week of each Fall, Winter and Spring Quarter! More details will be shared soon! 🚀

ˏˋ The Rigoberta Menchú Scholarship ˊˎ-
Rigoberta Menchú Tum is a renowned human rights activist from Guatemala. As an indigenous woman she has dedicated her life to advocating for Indigenous women's rights and promoting Indigenous rights across the country, especially in the aftermath of the Guatemalan Civil War. 🙏🏼✨
The Rigoberta Menchú Scholarship will provide one Oakes Affiliates every quarter with $500 to the BayTree Bookstore to support them with essential school supplies. 📖🌟
This scholarship is awarded to ONE recipient per quarter. 🏆 The recipient will be selected by a scholarship committee comprising the Oakes Senate CPC, Senior Director, Associate Director, and Oakes Senate Chair(s).📚
Be an Oakes College Affiliate 🙋♂️
Maintain good academic standing (2.0 GPA & above) 🎓
Must be enrolled in the Quarter following the application period 📅
The scholarship will open during the third week of Fall Quarter and close during the eighth week of Fall Quarter. The recipient will be chosen by the committee and notified towards the end of Winter Break or the beginning of Winter Quarter. 🎄❄️

Your SUCCESS starts with the basics! 💪 The Oakes Basic Needs Corner is here to help you thrive with free access to everyday essentials like:
🆓 Items you can find:
Toothpaste 🪥
Shampoo 🧴
Hand Wipes 🧻
Bandages 🩹
... and so much more!
To ensure that everyone in our community benefits from the resources available, we ask that all visitors follow these guidelines:
1. Be Considerate of Others
Take only what you need to allow others to access these essential items.
Limit yourself to one or two items per category per visit (e.g., one toothpaste, one pack of pads).
2. Keep It Clean
Treat the space with care. Discard packaging or trash in designated bins.
3. Check Expiration Dates
Double-check items for expiration dates before taking them. Report expired products to a volunteer or staff member.
4. Visit During Open Hours
Access the Basic Needs Corner only during operating hours to help us maintain and restock effectively.
5. No Hoarding or Reselling
Items are provided for personal use only. Selling or stockpiling items is not allowed.
6. Help Us Help You
If supplies are running low or specific needs aren’t being met, notify a volunteer or staff member so we can address them.
7. Donations Are Welcome
If you have extra unopened items, consider donating to help others in need.
8. Respect the Space and Volunteers
Follow the instructions of volunteers and staff, and show respect to everyone in the space
