Who is First 5 Santa Cruz County?
First 5 Santa Cruz County is a Non-Profit Organization that is addressing the health, development and early care/education inequalities that especially affect our most vulnerable populations of people and families. First 5 SCC is part of a network of 58 First 5's within counties accross California. All of which are working to convene, partner in and help lead the movement to help children in California receive the best possible start to life.
First 5 Santa Cruz is a Non-Profit Organization that works towards leveling the playing field for children to thrive and grow in the earliest years of life. Throughout their various programs; Healthy Children, Thriving Families, Early Care and Education and Equitable Early Childhood Systems, they are tackling restraints that hinder our most vulnerable children and families from being able to achieve wellness. It is through this early intervention, that they are allowing children within Santa Cruz County to be healthier and better prepared for their futures; thus in turn creating more opportunity to push against the social, political and economic barriers they are faced with.
It is through their Whole Child/Whole Family approach that they are able to intervene these issues from all sides, keeping in mind that health and wellbeing are directly correlated to these factors. That is why First 5 SCC has made it their mission to create ample opportunity and access for the most vulnerable youngest population of kids and their families.
