Despite the concurrent challenges of the COVID19 pandemic, BLM movements, wildfire and presidential election, the 2020 Everett students remained resilient, hopeful and creative this year. Completing the year-long Global Information and Social Entrepreneurship Studies (GISES) of the Everett Program, 32 students successfully implemented 11 community-engaged projects delivering their tech-based solutions for social justice. Throughout SOCY 30A, 107A, 107B, and 196G courses, our students obtained not only sociological knowledge but also practical skills to harness digital tech tools and manage projects and team collaboration. While staying remotely and working virtually, we also created a compassionate learning community and supported each other throughout these difficult times. Our students indeed demonstrated how we can overcome the impossible and stay hopeful for the future. This website gives us a glimpse to their remarkable work in 2020.
